Marmite!

Marmite the Monster is the first of it's kind in a potentially big range of critters that is on the way!

She's very soft, made from felt, cotton and brushed fleece....and she's got a sly little smile!

Her debut will be happening at this weekend's heART in the Garden exhibition, 30 November until 2 December, Tamara Park, Centurion, South Africa...along with 90 other little BOO!beloobies that would brighten anybody's day!

More info will be coming on the exhibit tomorrow!

McWilliam McCloud and my Dad

McWilliam McCloud is very special to me, he's inspired by my Dad, and named after him as well.

As long as I can remember, my dad has had a big bushy moustache.  Later in his life it started getting loads of different colours, browns, reds, whites.....

After he was diagnosed with his 3rd type of cancer in his lifetime, 1 being prostate cancer when I was only in Grade 8, bladder cancer last year, and June of 2012 with Lung Cancer, I knew that he would probably lose his trademark moustache.

He's fighting the biggest battle of his life at the moment, 6 rounds of chemo and 2 weeks of intense radiation later, he lost all his hair....but the moustache is slowly growing back, completely white...softer than before, but still, it's coming back.

My Dad and Wiantjie, my son March 2012

We don't know the outcome of it all yet, and he's still very sick and weak; but we're hopeful, we're believing in miracles....and we are praying a lot.

This is a dedication to the most loving person I've ever met, the most brave and majestic man I'll ever know.....I love you Dad (Brig. William Thomas Venter).

I always have, and I always will.  You are always on my mind, and forever in my prayers.....the fight will still be a big one, but I know that Poeksie can do it.

Sandy shades of pink...

I love pink, always have, probably always will.

The latest limited edition Orli the Owl are in shades of sand and pinks....and they are just scrummy!

The colours looks like sherbet....ice cream....beach sand.....

It really just makes me want to sit and only make them....forget about everything else.....put a little monotony(of my own free will)into my life....and just sit and sew....

The McCloud family!

The McCloud Family has arrived!

The first debut is Chloe McCloud, she's super sweet, and sooo girly with her polka dot and stripy leggings!

Hopefully her family will join her soon, as soon as they land, I'll introduce them!

Enjoy the new week everyone, almost time for Novemberitis to kick in, but the Holidays are fast approaching, we just all need to hang in there!

Blue and Beautiful!

My Giant Ribbon the Rabbit, and their smaller counterpart has been given a new lease on life with gorgeous shades of blue!

This order was commissioned out of Ermelo in South Africa, for one of my newest clients!

I loved making them.  The Giant Ribbon is usually a lot of work, and a bit awkward to work on, because of her size, and the smaller parts that have to be hand stitched on....but these ones was an absolute pleasure.

I used a very durable, but gorgeous canvas on the back, which give the Giants a lot of their stability.  The smaller ones was made from poly-cotton, in the most gorgeous muted blue tones!

Let me know what you think, I'll be making a couple of versions of my Giant Rabbit for the end of year exhibit at heART in the Garden!  It's the first time that she will be there in her Giant form, and I hope everyone will love her!

Hope you like it Luca!

I will be listing it on Etsy soon, so if anyone wants one, go and have a look!

Another Limited Edition Orli!

And they keep coming out of the woodwork!

A client of mine ordered a set of Orli the Owls, in red, cream, pink and chocolate brown.

I always feel hesitant pairing pink and red, and this time with chocolate brown.  But when the little owl was finished, I fell in love with her, so much so that she will become the 2nd limited edition Orli the Owl!

What do you think about her colour combo?

Violet Limited Edition Orli the Owl!

I've been working on a Limited Edition Violet and Turqouise Orli the Owl.

She is a Limited Edition version, because the fabric she is made of sold out completely, so when it's used up, it will be gone forever!

I thought she would do good, and I was right, at this weekends heART in the Piazza event at Montecasino's MTN Festival, I only brought one home!

Still have a little bit of the fabric left, will be making the rest to see how many little Orli's will still be able to go to good homes!

It's Spring time in South Africa.....so we are back to having some lovely 'braaivleis', will be doing that this upcoming weekend, the 24th being National Braai day!

Hope you all enjoy your week, will be in touch later on to share the heART in the Piazza event with you!
